The kids are revved up for the weekend and ready to go. “Are we going to the beach? Yes or no?” my three-year-old demands.
If the prospect of doing anything other than hiding under the covers all weekend tips you over into boiling teapot territory, you’ve come to the right post.
Here are my go-to itineraries on a winter and summer day in Doha.
Fun Fair
We are spoiled for choice when it comes to fun fairs and kids play areas in Doha. One of my kids’ favorites is the CurioCITY at the Gate Mall https://www.centerofplay.com/. Although a bit pricey at QAR 125 per child per hour, it is one of the most refreshing takes on a traditional fun fair. The slight steam punk aesthetic doesn’t hurt either.
Time check: We’re off to the races with one hour of fun.
National Museum of Qatar
An oldie but a goodie is the National Museum of Qatar (free for residents). The museum has six kids’ corners that let the little ones explore and let you scroll. In the cooler months, the pearling ship and cave playgrounds are an amazing experience even for adults.
Time check: At least 15 minutes at each station, that’s an hour and a half right there.
Lamb Chops
All that fun and exploring is sure to make a body tired. There is no better way to get that lifeline tracker back up than with a plate of the best lamb chops in town at the Al Khaima Restaurant https://alkhaimarestaurant.com/. Be warned, though, even 2kgs goes super fast.
